In an emergency

In the event of an emergency please telephone 015394 88555

Here at Oakhill Veterinary Group we are proud to provide our own emergency service. Our vets and nurses share an on call rota covering 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You are assured of professional, friendly veterinary care day and night. Please treat our on-call vet with respect, they work nights and weekends as well as a full week! PLEASE NOTE: If you are registered with another veterinary practice then in the first instance you should you should seek the advice of that practice during out-of-hours periods. It is at the discretion of the on-duty vet to attend to patients that are not registered with Oakhill during out-of-hours periods with special dispensation made ONLY for pets visiting the area who are too far from their registered practice to receive essential emergency treatment.

While in exceptional circumstances out-of-hours house visits are available, we would strongly recommend all pets are seen at our Windermere surgery so the necessary skills, medicines and equipment can be on hand should they be needed.  It is the responsibility of the pet owner to ensure they make provision for transport of their pet to the practice during out-of-hours periods prior to registering their pet at Oakhill. If you have a large pet then it may be helpful to make prior arrangements with a neighbour/friend, pet ambulance or taxi service.

For Wildlife Emergencies

Please telephone the RSPCA directly on 0300 123 4555 before contacting a vet. In some cases an RSPCA inspector will be able to attend. If Veterinary attention is required please ensure you obtain an Incident log number from the RSPCA call centre advisor prior to contacting us.
