Mixed Practice Veterinary Surgeon, 12 month fixed term maternity cover – Windermere, Lake District

Oakhill Veterinary Group has a vacancy for a Mixed Practice Veterinary Surgeon within our mixed practice on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a colleague on maternity leave. The position is based between our main site in Windermere and at our Branch practice at Ambleside where you will form part of the busy clinical team providing a first class veterinary service to our small animal, farm animal and equine clients and tourist clientele. We have a fantastic well-equipped, purpose-built surgery and rehabilitation centre, offering first opinion and referral services.
We are a very friendly team who are extremely proud of what the practice has to offer as well as being very supportive of each other in and out of work. In our two most recent Best Companies surveys we were one of very few practices to achieve the maximum 3* accreditation of employee satisfaction.
The role will be 40 hours per week plus one week night on call and one in five full weekends on call.
Salary to be discussed at interview.

Veterinary Nurse jobs
We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our well-established, friendly mixed veterinary practice in Windermere in the heart of the Lake District. We have an experienced, hardworking, compassionate, supportive team of RVNs who work to a very high standard. They work alongside a team of 10 dedicated and knowledgeable Veterinary Surgeons with four certificates in specialist areas. The practice is modern with well-equipped facilities and equipment. Nursing duties are predominantly small animal and we carry out regular referral work in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. We are an approved training practice, an RCVS Accredited practice and a Feline Friendly practice with a dedicated cat ward and waiting area. On site we have our Animal Rehabilitation Centre (the ARC) which offers physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and laser therapy. The role offers a good variety of nursing duties including theatre nursing, inpatient care, nurse consultations, lab work, radiography and dental care.
- Salary package - £25,000-£28,000 (for full time) including 1 in 5 Saturdays and 1 night a week on call from home.
